EMSEV Workshop for Initiating Seismic/Volcanic EM Monitoring in Asian Countries

Brief Report of the workshop

  C. P. Garcia Avenue, University of the Philippines Campus, Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines

Local Organizing Committee is chaired by Dr. Bartolome Bautista, 
  Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)

  The meeting is supported by IUGG, IAVCEI, IAGA , through which expenses of LOC and 
travel expenses of some invitees will be defrayed. Japanese participants will be supported 
by Tokai University.

Scientific objective:
  To introduce the recent progress in Seismic/Volcanic EM study to Asian scientists and to 
discuss the feasibility and usefulness of initiating EM monitoring in their countries.

  Scientists from these countries and Philippines have expressed interests to initiate 
Seismo-Volcanic EM monitoring and EMSEV would like to encourage them by giving a series 
of lectures and a field survey for characterizing suitable sites for setting monitoring device.   
PHIVOLCS is willing to support this meeting by rendering meeting venue and free 
accommodation.
